Ken Murray moved to Boone with his family when he was five years old. He attended local elementary schools and graduated from Watauga High School. He then attended Appalachian State University and graduated with a BS in Industrial Technology. Upon graduation, Ken went to work for the Hickory Chair Company, where he spent nine years in the Product Engineering Department. The last five years of this were spent as the Product Engineering Manager. Then, in 1994, the opportunity to return home to Boone presented itself. Precision Cabinets, Inc. was formed at this time. In the year 2000, Ken hired Colleen McGinnis as a full-time Kitchen Designer. A year later, Ken and Colleen married. In 2003, they became the proud parents of a beautiful little boy. And in 2008 were blessed with another beautiful boy.
